I get direct messages often asking the question "Why?" Why call this workshop series Brown Girls & Yoga? š¤ Are white girls welcome? What about men? How would you feel about someone advertising a White Girls & Yoga workshop? 𫤠So, I feel a blog may help to address the elephant š in the room.
In the simplest of terms, yoga is for Every. Body. The word yoga means union. Union of the body, mind, and spirit is achieved by taking a conscious seat and becoming intentional with the breath and body.
Some of us are often reluctant to try something that is foreign to us unless we see someone that looks like us doing it. This introduction to holistic self-care practices is born from the need to close the information gap for those who may feel intimidated by the fancy acrobatic poses, exclusive posh studios, or a room full of athletic people who seem to have been born knowing this information.
This program is for all the people who need it the most. We want everyone to know that we are all connected. Free Energy Nurturing Incredible Xenophiles is what F.E.N.I.X. Yoga with Brandy stands for.

noun
an individual who is attracted to foreign peoples, manners, or cultures.
Its opposite is xenophobia, the fear of such things.
Our program, merchandise, and local community information to share is all fully inclusive and resourceful to those who wish to practice holistic self care techniques.
This workshop includes a presentation, a light snack and a guided practice for beginners. Bring a mat, towel, water bottle, and a friend! Props are provided for accessibility.
We are here for the people who are afraid to try something new to them because they donāt see themselves represented often enough.
We are here for everybody. NamastĆ©. šš½ š§š½āāļø š¤š
