Brown Girls & Yoga Workshop Series (Winter 2026) Fridays • 3:00 PM • M Power Yoga Houma Price: $35 per person Dates: Tentative sessions between Jan 9 – March 27, 2026 The Brown Girls & Yoga Workshop Series is a gentle, culturally grounded introduction to yoga created for women of color and allies seeking community, healing, and embodied liberation. Each session blends movement, breath work, discussion, and mindfulness—rooted in the ancient eastern traditions of Africa, India, China, and pre-colonial history. This experience is designed to reclaim yoga beyond the Western lens, centering presence, peace, empowerment, and ancestral memory. What to Expect A beginner-friendly yoga flow Mindfulness and breathwork practice Cultural + historical context on global yoga lineages Tools for emotional regulation and self-connection Space for journaling, reflection, and sisterhood connection Who It’s For: This workshop welcomes: ~Black women and women of color exploring yoga for the first time ~Westerners and descendants of the transatlantic slave trade seeking healing modalities ~Anyone interested in the global, ancestral origins of yoga Private Group Bookings (5–25 participants) This series can also be booked privately for: ~Team-building workshops ~Yoga day retreats ~Staff wellness days ~Student support sessions ~Healing-centered gatherings Private sessions include all props, towels, and a personalized wellness experience customized to your group’s goals.
